Change the Width-to-Height Ratio of your chart
You can adjust the width-to-height ratio of a chart to control its overall shape and how it appears when embedded in a Dashboard.
How to change the width-to-height ratio
-
Open the Insight you want to edit.
-
In the Build your chart step, open the Custom tab.
-
Locate the setting labelled Width-to-height ratio.
-
Set the value by:
-
Entering a number directly into the input field, or
-
Using the increment buttons.
-

How the ratio affects your chart
The width-to-height ratio controls the overall shape of the chart, including the chart area, title, and legend.
-
A value of 1 produces a roughly square chart.
-
A value of 2 produces a wide, horizontal chart.
-
Higher values increase width relative to height.
This setting is especially useful when you want charts to fit neatly into Dashboard layouts.
Recommended values
In most cases, a width-to-height ratio between 1 and 2 works well.
-
Use lower values for compact layouts or stacked charts
-
Use higher values when displaying wider comparisons or longer labels
Why this matters
Adjusting chart proportions helps improve readability and ensures charts sit comfortably within Dashboard layouts without changing the underlying data or analysis.
