What is a Measured Quantity?

A Measured Quantity is a defined variable used in the Seer Data Platform to describe what is being measured in a dataset. It provides clear meaning to numerical values by specifying the unit, context, and type of measurement being recorded.

Measured Quantities describe things such as counts, percentages, rates, or amounts — for example, number of people, percent of active participants, or number of services delivered.

Aggregate data

You can set the Measured Quantity categories for aggregate data when you create a data table.

This article explains what a schema is and examples of how to set the Measured Quantity categories.

Data uploaded via .csv or Excel file

When you are uploading your data via the Self-service Data Collection feature, your measured quantities will automatically include a count of records. If you set the data type of a column to number, you will also have the option to include additional aggregations such as sum, min and max to your dataset.
