How to configure and use MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication)

A guide for setting up MFA for users within your organisation

Prerequisite

You must be either an owner or administrator of an organisation to configure MFA.

How does it work

Members of organisations without MFA enabled log in by entering a one time passcode sent to their email address. This is the default behaviour.

Members of organisations with MFA enabled log in by entering both a one time passcode sent to their email address along with a password.

Steps to enable

  1. Navigate to your organisation settings page in the avatar dropdown menu, then click on Details in the left navigation.
  2. In the Details section, simply toggle the Enable MFA field and hit Save.
  3. Users within your organisation will now need to use a password to login, in addition to the one time passcode they are already familiar with. Ensure this is communicated to your existing users as they will need to reset their passwords before they can log in. Users added to your organisation in future will be prompted to set their password during the sign up flow.

Reset your password

If you are already logged into the platform, you can do this by navigating to the Change Password section in settings. Here you click on the reset password link at the bottom of the page, enter your email and hit Send email. Follow the link in your email to complete the process then log in using your updated password.

If you are not logged in, then go to the login page and enter your email. It will prompt you for your password but you are able to use the reset link on this page in the same manner by entering your email and hitting Send email and following the steps.

Changing your password

You can do this by navigating to the Change Password section in settings. Enter your current password, then enter a new password and confirm the new password before hitting Update. Your password is now updated for the next time you login.
